The detail, playability and realism are what made me push everything else off my calendar to share a quick look at the new Evolution Jumbo 12 from Orange Tree Samples.

If you have been following SLR and my reviews, you know I am a huge fan of what Orange Tree Samples is doing with it’s line of hyper-realistic guitar libraries using the Evolution engine. This time the team turned their microphones and sampling talent to the Taylor 355 12-string guitar and managed to capture the brilliant detail of this amazing instrument.

I have been super short on time this week, but wanted to get a first look and share some of the sounds and functionality of the library while readers have a chance to take advantage of the special intro pricing (now $139 – reg $179)

This Kontakt Player library downloads as 4.76 GB, down from 11.9 GB using Native Instruments‘ lossless compression. Evolution Jumbo 12 was recorded by longtime OTS collaborator, Guy Randle at the Rosewood Recording Company, where they captured an epic number of articulations including sustains, palm mutes, mutes, natural harmonics, special effects like string slaps, guitar body hits, and legato samples for slides, hammer-ons, and pull-offs.

Evolution Jumbo 12 is NKS compatible and as a Kontakt Player instrument is compatible with both the FREE and full versions of Kontakt 5.7.0 or higher, loading right into your Kontakt ‘Libraries’ tab.
