First Look: Delphi Piano Series V1 – Autumn 1958 by Soundiron

The first in the new Delphi Series from Soundiron, the team pointed their microphones to captures the unique and character-filled sounds of this 1958 upright piano.  The instrument’s “natural” sample set delivers 9 velocity layers with 6 round robins, note releases and pedal sounds

“The Delphi Piano series explores the nuanced characteristics and distinctive styles of different musical eras of the 20th century.

We begin with a quintessential sound and then explore it deeply with a range of different stylistic motifs to take you on a textural journey into pure musical feeling.” – Soundiron

This will be great for jazz, blues, and big band, but I think most users are going to get the most out of the “natural” sample set in hip hop, low-fi and experimental tracks.

But what sets this instrument apart are the 30 ambience patches created from the source content by the talented sound designers on the Soundiron team as well as 20 sound-designed FX and ambient presets which really show off what the instrument is capable of.  This takes the instrument into uncharted territory with a nice selection of pads, atmospheres, and unexpected delights.

In this first look video we take a look and listen to the first in the Delphi Piano Series from Soundiron.
