Thoughts

Westwood Instruments have gone back to the drawing board of the original Alt Piano release and have made a number of big updates. In addition to adding more ambient textures, the instrument is also now presented in the free Kontakt Player – making it more accessible to more composers than ever before. Westwood have also presented Alt Piano in their new Evergreen engine, which offers a lot of flexibility and ease of use so that you can quickly and easily customize the sound of the instrument to your liking. Add to this a good number of presets to get you started and a low price point, and you have an excellent upright piano library that will bring you right back to your childhood piano teacher’s music room.

Facts

Alt Piano runs in the free Kontakt Player and is NKS compatible. It has a download size of 3.7GB, and includes 4 microphone positions, 11 textures, and over 40 presets.
