First Look: Modular Moods by PulseSetter Sounds
Lush analogue sound with awesome on board sound design
Lots of modular sound sources to work with
Four distinct categories of sounds with a good amount of presets to get you started
Really simple, well designed and purple GUI
Great value for money
This library would really benefit with an expansion of more modular sound sources
PulseSetter Sounds have gained a reputation for combining quirky ideas with killer sound design to make one-stop modern cinematic instruments. With previous titles such as my personal favourite, Epic Babies and one of Sample Library Review’s Best of 2020 libraries -Dystopian Guitars, PulseSetter Sounds are adding a modular twist to their latest library. If you’re looking for a collection of modular pads, plucks, sequences and construction kits for your next cue, this might be the library for you!

First Look: Modular Moods by PulseSetter Sounds
PusleSetter Sounds have brought the world of modular sound design to our DAWs without the need of huge, expensive racks full of all kinds of different modules. While this library is quite small in size, it packs a big punch with it’s excellent uses of sound sources and onboard sound design capability. My only real complaint is that I want more! Modular Moods captures the very essence of what makes modular synthesis so appealing and presents it to us in an intelligent way using different layers and keyswitches. The instrument design is simple yet intuitive and there are enough snapshots to get you started in all of the four categories, pads, plucks, sequences and generative patches. The sound design is deep for an instrument of this size and price point and my overall impression is that it is easy to use, sounds great and can be further extended through the use of onboard effects. For those looking for a quick and easy straight to the point modular sound, I highly recommend Modular Moods.
