Room and Placement Controls
Emotive Woodwind Soloists includes an amazing range of articulations with the show stopper being The Smart Legato. With Smart Legato users can play or program performances with natural transitions including same-note legato easily.
Latency Adjustments
The adjustable latency allows for more expressive phrasing. Low Latency can be used to quickly perform parts in real time. While higher latency settings add lush qualities to the sound, making transitions slower and more emotive.
Fracture Sounds have really topped themse;lves with this Smart Legato system, which uses advanced scripting and lookahead technology to create smooth, natural transitions between notes, mimicking the behavior of live players.
Dynamic control via the mod wheel enhances realism, especially when playing sustains, while Smart Trills allow minor and major seconds, extending up to major thirds for the Flute. Shorts such as staccato, staccatissimo, and tenuto add variety, alongside slow sustains for those desiring more emotive playback.
Another standout, the Performance Shorts articulation, allows for intuitive and expressive control over playback by automatically switching between staccato and sustain based on note velocity. Lower velocities trigger shorter notes while higher velocities produce longer ones, enabling natural and dynamic keyswitch-free performances. The Performance articulation uses the mod wheel (CC1) to control dynamics and incorporates three note lengths: staccato, short tenuto, and long tenuto.
This feature is consistently available across all core instruments in the library and provides composers with a versatile tool for creating dynamic and expressive woodwind phrases in a single playable patch. Multiple round robins ensure smooth and natural legato transitions, while slow attack and release samples enable seamless fade-ins and fade-outs.
What makes Emotive Woodwind Soloists so exceptional is the smooth sampling techniques coupled with the exceptional programming. The Flute and Picoloo are never to harsh in the upper register while the Clarinet and Bassoon and warm and full with bite, yet never sound honky. The special articulations, legato and latency controls all contribute to the gene say qua that make this library a pleasure to play.
