First Look: Blue Street Brass by Indiginus
Indiginus does it again, delivering a great stylized sample library that is easy to use and can sound fantastic. Throughout my first look video, I played through the sounds and instruments as well as got a feel for what functionality and features this vintage solo brass collection has to offer.
Highlights are the stellar stylized sample set of 1930-1980s retro fashioned multi-sampled instruments and the custom convolution reverbs IR’s included to mimic the authentic sound of vintage microphones. The scripted legato is surprisingly fluid and the instruments are just very intuitive to play.
Though the library is not without fault (I did have a few “would have liked to have seen” moments as well as discovering some inconsistencies), it’s hard to find diminish the instrument as it’s depth of vintage solo instruments, ease of use and price tag make this a real gem.

I picked this up for the intro price of 59 dollars…the sound, especially from some of the older mic sets, is incredible and well worth the price…in fact, I’d call it a steal…while I love jazz, especially the bop and film noir sounds of the 50s and early 60s, some of the muted and moody sounds would also sound particularly good in slowly evolving ambient and electronic music. Thanks as always, Don!!
