Thoughts
The instrument itself has a lovely, highly expressive and detailed tone to my ears: fairly raw and very dry (the built in reverbs sound great, but you can turn them off for a bone-dry sound and use your own favorite third-party reverb plugins). The “expressive longs” were a favorite of mine, as it effectively conveys every little detail of the performance, complete with a sense of movement, re-bowing, and tasteful vibrato. It’s hard not to get carried away just playing chords with the expressive longs, they’re just dripping with emotion. The whole tone slides are also a favorite, giving an instant “roots/folk” vibe that evokes the old American West and traditional bluegrass vibes.
