Review: Taste by Audio Ollie

by

True to its name, Taste is a sampling of the entire Audio Ollie catalog: strings, percussion, synths, and more. However, Taste goes beyond a mere introduction to Audio Ollie’s line of instruments – it contains a nice sampling of new multis and presets with fresh content to give even the owners of Audio Ollie’s full libraries something new. With Taste, Audio Ollie have skipped the tasting menu and went straight into a seven-course meal!

Review: Taste by Audio Ollie

With a name like Taste, you might expect Audio Ollie’s new library to just contain a few patches from their catalog of instruments. However, going beyond a mere sampling of Audio Ollie’s current instruments, Taste contains new content in the shape of a healthy set of multis that combines these libraries together in fresh and musical ways. With percussion, synths, strings, and more, Taste serves both as a great introduction to Audio Ollie’s products and a diverse library with which to compose entire tracks.

Thoughts

With Taste, Audio Ollie have created something both new and familiar. While largely intended as an introduction to the Audio Ollie catalog, Taste isn’t just for those who aren’t already familiar with or using Audio Ollie’s instruments. Instead, while Taste includes some patches from each of Audio Ollie’s existing libraries, it also includes a brand new set of multis, fresh content from the upcoming RCD Guitars library, and a preview version of the Postcard Piano from Teletone Audio. To say this is a nice little introductory library would be to grossly undersell just how good the content here is. I look at this more as a curated Audio Ollie composer toolkit, giving you some excellent percussion, synths, strings, and more. Taste will whet the appetite of users who aren’t already familiar with Audio Ollie’s instruments while pleasing loyal Audio Ollie customers with new patches and fresh content.
