Well sampled solo strings that are full of character an nuance
Easy to control and great mic and reverb options
Great selection of articulations including ability to make motion pads and performances
The absolutely superb Double Bass instrument is a highlight
No legato length or speed controls although I did not find this a major problem

With so many string libraries now available, Neo Strings gives us a library full of extended articulations and an abundance of character. So much character in fact, you feel like the performers are right there in front of you. If you’re looking for an expressive and inspiring solo string library, then look no further.

Review: Neo Strings by Insanity Samples
Neo Strings is a joy to play not only as it’s extremely well programmed and sampled, it has a great human character and extended articulations that bridge the gap between a standard and alternative string library. The controls are straight forward with four mic position options and around ten reverbs with expression, dynamics and vibrato controls. There are a total of 24 articulations for each instrument aside from the violin which has 23 due to it missing the hardly ever used violin col legno technique.
Until using Neo Strings, I did not really feel I needed another solo string library. Yet Neo Strings adds so much more to the standard string library repertoire. All of the techniques you expect are there along with fx and performance techniques that give life to your compositions and a great sound design element. It’s possible to create evolving textures and pads with the use of fx articulations, the sustain pedal and clever use of the expression wheel. In short, Neo Strings is a great addition to any composers toolkit and great fun to boot!
