Vir2 continue their Vital Series instrument line with STICKS, a great utilitarian library that will be as exciting to use as it is useful. STICKS is getting a lot of use in my workflow already and I can see how this instrument is going to be right at home for a wide range of genres.

Vir 2 Instruments is back with another instrument in it’s Vital Series line. This time the developer set its sights on creating a unique percussion instrument. Vital Series Sticks is a collection of different “stick” types sampled as they are struck on various objects.
The Sticks range from drumsticks to pencils to steel brushes to timpani mallet and the surfaces vary from cardboard boxes to wooden drawers to sheet metal for a total of 80 different samples.

Vital Series: Sticks in the ‘BIG BOY’ interface
In this first look video, I share some of the sounds functionality of Vital Series: Sticks. The library downloads as 2.5GB and is a sample set of percussive stick strikes. In total, you get a selection of 23 ‘Stick Types’
and 20 struck object samples for a total of 80 different sample sets.
The instrument is set up with 4 banks so you can simultaneously load in 4 different samples which are distributed across the keyboard, one octave per instrument. One thing I love about this instrument is that Vir2 has sampled separate Left and Right hand strikes with access to perform with these samples on the yellow keys of the Kontakt keyboard. The remaining 10 keys of the keyboard are dedicated to the 10 sequencers you can program with velocity, pan and pitch changes.
The library made of dry, stereo samples and the 5 velocity layers and 26 round robins make performances by the user or programmed sequences sound natural and expressive.
All of the Vital Series Sticks instruments are in Kontakt nki patch and come with full Komplete Kontrol & Maschine integration.
