Checking Out: Space Age Rhythm & Space Age Voices By Authentic Soundware

Authentic Soundware captures the vibe of a mid-century studio big-band orchestra with Space Age Rhythm and Space Age Voices.Space Age Rhythm is a collection of rhythmic and melodic instruments that perfectly captures the sound of yesteryear- think big band, swing, jazz, bossa-nova, etc.

The overall sound is full of character- very warm and vibe-y, as opposed to a more modern and polished studio sound. The choice of mic positions on offer do allow you to blend this library in with a variety of genres and other libraries though. I was particularly impressed with the beautifully sampled lap steel guitar. Each instrument also has a great variety of artiiculations overall, from standard short and long notes to multiple legato types, chords, bends, rises, falls, as well as DI or amped signals for the guitars and organ. The drum kit also comes with both sticks and brushes, as well as maraca and snare brush loops and fills to add to the top of your tracks.

Space Age Voice, of course, delivers the vocal aspect of the same era- plenty of doo-wap style short notes, spoken phrases, FX like rises and falls and breath, and a nice legato with both smooth and agile transitions. With Space Age Voices you get similar options as far as mic positions and the same warm/retro vibe to boot.
