The Solino String Proto Ensemble MK 1

The Solino String Proto Ensemble mk1 wa created in collaboration with Synthmagic. The library weighs in at 512MB with its 41 kontakt presets and requires the full verison of Kontakt 5.2.1+.

The samples that this instrument is made from is a vintage ‘ARP Solina String Ensemble” MARK1 keyboard. The keyboard was known as the “String Machine” and came to prominence in the late 1970’s disco era and grew its fame by being used on recording for Air, The Eagles, Elton John, Pink Floyd, The Cure, Joy Division, OMD, Josh Wink, STYX, Tangerine Dream, Keane, Japan, and New Order

The The Solino String Proto Ensemble mk1 is so much more than just a playback of said samples as Tronsonic and Synthmagic have loaded the instrument with custom scripting enabling EQ modulation, effects and phasers that give you a complex and evolving synthesized orchestral sounds.

Thoughts

This is one of those libraries you can get lost in. So many great morphing textures and motion with the effects. Reminds me of that great score from Vangelis for Blade Runner.

The Solino String Proto Ensemble mk1 is available from Tronsonic for £15.00 (+VAT IN EU)
