Thoughts

ARIA Sounds has been around for a bit now and even though these instruments are all older compared to the existing offerings out there, many of these hold their own in comparison and some of them are downright gems. Given the huge array of instruments available here, I am going to focus on those that I really found to be standouts.

I know that the first thing that everyone will have their eye on is the LSS Strings. I found them to be okay – but not exceptional.

There has been a lot of hyperbole posted about the LSS Solo Strings. This collection was on sale in September 2016 and it seems it was very popular and gained a lot of fans.

The LSS Solo Strings are worth the price of entry here, but I really found myself more captivated by some of the less traditional orchestral instruments and of course the Silk Piano.

The orchestral percussion is a worthy addition to the bundle and offers a significant array of instruments to add to your arsenal.

Here’s what really got my attention: The Church Organ is a real gem with full control over the stops and instrument selection sliders and a very full and pleasing sound. The Celtic Harp has a full resonating tone that you don’t typically find at this price range. The Hybrichord is an experiment to see what kind of sounds a piano can produce when abused. In a sense, think prepared piano with a bit of a darker diversion. There are some really useful sounds in this oddity.

The Silk Piano is one that I really found to be the best of the bunch.

The Silk Piano is one that I really found to be the best of the bunch. It has a wonderful tone with 76 velocity layers! It is a sampled Fazioli and although it is on the smaller side it has a warm and lush tone that stands up against many pianos on the market today.
In summary, no matter what you find in this treasure trove of instruments, there is something that you will enjoy and put to good use in your studio. There is simply too much here to pass up at the price.
