Thoughts
Morphestra 2 is Sample Logic‘s sequel to their Morphestra /Morphestra Generations libraries. That said the library is more than just a re-hash of old samples. With Morphestra 2 you get 26.7GB of samples (of which is 10 gigabytes is of new content) all wrapped in an entirely new amazing morphing hybrid engine.
At the heart of Morphestra 2 is Sample Logic‘s dynamic user interface with a multi core engine allowing you to load up to 8 samples at a time. The magic in this engine’s Morph Animator coupled with the Step Animator and XY Mixer.
I was finishing up my review of SAmple lOgics previous release, Cinemorphx, when I got this library to review. I loaded it up and was swept away. I really love Sample Logic‘s hybrid engine and feel that it does so much it is impossible to really hear even a fraction of what it is capable of in the short amount of time I had to review the instrument. If you are using Cinemorphx I think Morphestra 2 has a “darker” feel to it over all, but then again, so many parameters, so many presets, it’s impossible for me to definitively compare the 2.
If your not a fan of the way Sample Logic has developed it’s hybrid engine, then this library probably won’t be for you/ Personally, Sample Logic has won me over with this hybrid engine, and that says a lot since I have dozens of hybrid libraries.
On the CONS this library is a beast and will take you a little time to learn the engine and quite some time to seriously curate and collect your favorite sounds.
One thing is for sure, Morphestra 2 follows in the footsteps ofCinemorphx/Gamelan and delivers the kind of cinematic hybrid instrument that instantly amazes yet is so vast it will have composers creating uniquely original score for years to come.

Morphestra 2 contains 5,000+ Instruments & Multis weighing in at over 25 GB of sample content.
The samples for the instrument are made up of strings, brass, Woodwinds, Waterphones, Tools, Machinery,Symphonic & World percussion, Voices, Guitars and even samples of Animals!
All of the original MORPHESTRA GENERATIONS instruments/multis and MORPHESTRA 1.0 multis are also included.
The hybrid library is a Kontakt player instrument meaning it loads into the library tab of both the full and Free versions Native Instruments Kontakt. The instrument requires Kontakt 5 Player (free) or Kontakt Retail (sold separately) Version 5.5 or higher.
