Maliki's loops are driving & passionate. Great set of tools to kickstart a percussive action cue or score. Huge selection of great programmed MIDI themes make it easy to take control of these loops and make them your own.
Though they do sound nice, there are only 4 single drum instruments included. (20 Theme/Loop Instruments)

The Facts
Maliki Epic Adventure Drums is a set of 4 Acoustic and Hybrid Drums instruments and 20 Themes/Loop instruments. Maliki requires the full version of Native Instruments Kontakt 5.4.3 or higher and a little over 6.2 GB of free disk space for the samples. Maliki contains 1,600 WAV samples.
Maliki is a collection of epic drum loops arranged in 20 themes, arranged by a selection of 4 acoustic and hybrid drum instruments.
All the loop/themes have been arranged by Maliki Ramia and each theme instrument contains 10 variations that develop musically growing as a part of a composition. Each of the 20 theme/loop instruments load with full mix of all instruments playing as an ensemble and also have individual drum instruments mapped across the keyboard as stems.
The 4 Single Instrument patches are Bass Drum, Big Smash, Floor Tom & Ignite Ensemble with velocity layers and several samples mapped across the keyboard.
In addition, Maliki comes with a collection of over 600 MIDI files of all the theme/loops you hear in the Theme/Loop instruments.

GUI
The single instrument drums are played through The Forge Lite Kontakt engine.
Single Instrument GUI Maliki Epic Soundlab
Which gives you controls with an ADSR and a number of effects including Distortion, Punch, EQ, Saturation, Delay, Reverb as well as a separate Low and Hi Pass filters.
The theme/Loop Instrument GUI allows you to place each stem in a virtual stage (left-right, front-back) and recall you mixes with 10 preset key switches.

Final Thoughts
Retailing at $99.00 (usd), I was let down that there were only 4 single instrument patches included and felt it necessary to mark down for value. The inclusion of the MIDI files of all the loop helped to boost that rating as my favorite feature of Maliki is the huge selection of loops / themes are provided as midi files which allows me to import the midi performances, manipulate them and make them into my own music.
As a working composer who often only has a day or 2 to complete a score for projects I like the way the instrument is divided into loops/themes and single instruments.
I can see myself using the loop/theme instruments to get a jump start on a composition by finding a theme with the spirit of what I am looking for to get started and then switching over to the single instruments, importing in midi and manipulating the performance to match my composition.
Over-all the collection of loops and themes are driving and passionate and easy to make work into your own compositions as they come as MIDI files.
