Hapi Drums is a set of four steel tongue drums crafted by legendary instrument makers Grahm Doe & Tricia Kelly at their workshop in the Sierra Mountain foothills of Oakhurst, CA. Steel tongue instruments are known for a smooth fundemantal tone wrapped in a haze of complex harmonics and a long, mellow sustain.
The natural sample set is wonderful for cinematic scoring or exotic flavor. The developer takes the instrument out even further with the sound design patches that greatly expand the sonic playback and usefulness of the library.
In this quick look video, I share a little composition mocked up using the library and play through a number of the patches to get an idea of the sound and functionality of the instrument.
