Red Room Audio have followed up their SAGA Acoustic Trailer Percussion with an other-world release, SAGA 2 – Organic Alien Percussion. This time the developer has crafted a multi-sampled percussion instrument library that includes 194 unique playable instruments. The collection features alien interpretations of percussion instruments of various sizes, including small, medium, and large. The instruments were sampled with a variety of playing techniques, resulting in a diverse range of sounds. The library is available for purchase at a special intro price of $99 (reg $149.00) although there is a loyalty discount (check your account here) of an additional $30s off.
The library is designed to be easily playable and customizable, with a user-friendly interface that allows for quick and intuitive sound shaping. The collection comes with various features, including a built-in effects rack, a drag-and-drop MIDI groove player, and a fully customizable mapping system.
Overall, SAGA 2 – Organic Alien Percussion has heavy fingerprints with the “alien” sound design pushed to the forefront of the instrument. After a first look, I can see how this library will useful for those scoring, sci-fi, especially retro sci-fi, animation and even useful for sound designers. Additionally, the library is such a unique collection of sounds that composers and music makers may find gold in some hit, stab, or sample to add real character or a signature sound to more organic, hybrid or acoustic scores or songs.
