Indie Bouzouki from Dream Audio Tools
Dream Audio Tools latest offering, Indie Bouzouki, is sampled from the Bouzouki instrument. The stringed instrument is most similar to a mandolin and is of greek origin.
The really nice sample quality and 39 kontakt presets make the Bouzouki pretty easy to play as an instrument as there are several presets with round robins including sustains, hammer ons noises and one for arpeggios. The library comes 40 kontakt presets with some playable instrument patches as well as some time saving presets as well that allow you to easily perform chords, strumming and patterns with there own dedicated and keyswitch patches.
Dream Audio Tools advertsised this library as “Low memory usage, Laptop ready” and they weren’t kidding. I loaded up presets with as little as 14MB foot prints and even larger instruments only wighed in at about 100MB.
I think this is a great little instrument for the price especially if you need to add that folk, ethnic or medieval feel to a composition.
The Indie Bouzouki kontakt patters and strum instruments are tempo synced. All samples in the library are 24 bit /44.1Khz and downloads as 1.2 Gbytes of sampled material.
The library contains 39 .nki patches (kontakt presets) with playable patterns in straight feel as well as triplets feel, sustained patches, hammer-ons, strummed chords and noises.
Each of the kontakt presets comes with Chorus, Delay, Flanger, Reverb effects accessible on the GUI. The modulation and pitch wheel controlled different behaviors of the instruments.
