First Look: Quartarone Guitar Reveries by Valiant Samples

For scoring for media, few instruments have the range to provide instant cinematic inspiration like a guitar can. Even as a guitar player myself I am always eager to check out guitar sample libraries.

New developer Valiant Samples just released Quartarone Guitar Reveries, a cinematic atmospheric electric guitar Kontakt Player library.

The library promises to “Capture the avant-garde sound of one of Europe’s greatest guitarists and composers, Claudio Quartarone.”

Now truth be told, I hadn’t heard of Claudio prior to this instrument, but now I am going to check out some of his work as the library sets out to deliver his signature musical palette.

The promo material looks nice and the demos got my attention. Priced very affordably at just $79 I was curious to see what this library was all about. Would this library be something I use for scores? In this video, we find out.

Quartarone Guitar Reveries downloads as 9 GB and is a cinematic, abstract, ambient electric guitar library that captures the sound of guitarist Claudio Quartarone.

The Kontakt Player instrument comes with 150 Presets built around a 2 Layer Sample Engine that allows user to combine 2 different sample sets and create your own instruments. The main page of the GUI comes with Reverb, Filter, Saturation, Widening and Tremolo and the effects page contains controls for Amp, Lo-Fi, EQ, Filters & More.

Quartarone Guitar Reveries is a Kontakt Player Instrument and is NKS Compatible. It loads into the libraries tab of both the FULL or FREE version of Native Instruments Konakt.
