The library contains hybrid industrial-esque drum loops, a unique collection of braams, cinematic yet sophisticated hits as well as some unique tonal keyboard instruments and other difficult to describe samples. For the library, Pulsesetter Sounds captured samples from baby xylophones, baby bottles, babies crying souls and other baby paraphernalia and with their sound design skills transformed the sample set into a unique hybrid sample library.
Epic Babies does require the full version of Native Instruments Kontakt 5.7+.
When Pulsesetter Sounds set out to work on the Epic babies library, they had a goal to expand their sound design limits by sampling baby toys and then “processing the shit out of them” with hardware and some unusual software manglers.
Navigation through the presets is fairly straightforward with 8 “Main” nkis including Ambience, Effects, Impacts, Loops, Pads, Percussion, Tonal and a Trailer Sounds collection. Each of these instruments contains dozens of presets which can be selected or scrolled through in the upper right of the instrument’s interface.
There is also a collection of “Bonus Sequences” which seem to be tempo sync’d loops and phrases crafted from the sample set.
No post about the Epic Babies library would be complete without a comment or 2 about the interface. The tone and temperament of the art design for this library are fantastic. When you press the first note the baby floating in the center of the interface opens its eyes which is that perfect combination of creepy and cool.
On top of its visual appeal, Epic Babies has a very intuitive interface with a panel for effects controls.

And a very simple Envelope control with attack and release settings.

After spending just 30 minutes or so with the library for the first look I am left feeling inspired and excited. I am very much looking forward to an opportunity to utilize Epic Babies in my work.
