From grim and prominent to celestial and enigmatic, Dronar Metal and Glass excels as much in diversity as usability. On first listen, the timbres may not leap out of the speakers as the most “beautiful” of the Dronar series, but I bet this will be the Dronar library that gets the most use in my work.

First Look: Dronar Metal & Glass by Gothic Instruments

Gothic Instruments is back with a new library in the popular Dronar series. This time the team their sights on creating a controllable, atmosphere creator in the Dronar engine sampling. . . you guessed it . . . Metal and Glass objects. Sound designer Alessandro Camnasio is credited with using his sound design wizardry to craft the library.

As with the previous Dronar releases, Gothic instruments turned to a team of talented composers and sound designers including, Alessandro Camnasio, J. Gabriel Rodrigues, Jonathan Sharp, Kyle Kniceley and Vinko Borčić to curate the 235 included .nki presets for Kontakt.

In this first look video, I spent some time playing through a random selection of the preset Menus to get a feel for what kind of sonic sculpting the instrument is capable of.

Dronar Metal and Glass downloads as 5GB. It contains a sample set created entirely by manipulating glass & metal objects.
The library is housed in Gothic Instruments Dronar Engine for Kontakt which allows for blending and manipulating a Hi, Mid, Low & FX layers as well as dozens of deep controls and effects for further manipulation.

The library does require the full version of Kontakt 5.7.3
