You get three of their signature pianos in this bundle – The American Grand, The Italian Grand and The German Grand. The American Grand is a Steinway Model D, The Italian is a Fazioli 308 and The German is a Bechstein Semi-Grand.


According to VILABS, all of the pianos are deeply sampled with multiple high-end microphones and preamps. The sampling process feels very solid when playing each of these pianos. The interface provides you an extreme level of control over Mic placement, noises, pedaling, resonance and so much more. The sample count ranges between 11,000 and 14,000 per piano. A couple of features not always found in sampled pianos at this price point are the inclusion of Una Corda and Release Trail samples. The samples also capture the sympathetic resonance of each piano nicely.

From a preference perspective, I have a real leaning toward the warmth and beauty of the German Bechstein. The sheer clarity and dominance of the Fazioli is a strong entry here. Each has its own place in a composition depending on what you are writing but the pair is simply fantastic. The American Steinway is a nice piano, but I left that one to last just because there are so many of them out there.
