Thoughts

It is hard to dismiss the staying power of the synthwave sound. It has influenced music makers for decades with artists like Depeche Mode, Telefon Tel Aviv, Lazerhawk taking up the neon torch. While scores for film and media such as Drive, Bladerunner and Stranger Things continue to be amongst the most influential of their time. Each decade the synthwave sound is embraced by a new set of composers and performers and the vintage-retro-futuristic sound finds a new fan base.

Power Move Interface with ARP controls

Thus my first interest in Power Move. As a composer that does a lot of genre hoping for my clients, synth arps, crystal keys and signature 80’s drums are indispensable tools in my arsenal.

In this video, I share a first look as I dig into Power Move and have a listen through the presets and check out some of the instrument’s functionality.
