Checking Out: Habitat by Orchestral Tools

Habitat is a composing toolkit from the creative minds of Dominik Eulberg and Orchestral Tools. From the moment this library was released, it hit a resonance with me. Firstly, I love blending synths and orchestral instruments. While time-consuming, the results are often fantastic. Yet Habitat does this in an effortless and creative way. Habitat conjures instrument combinations that I most likely never would and plays them out in such refinement and beauty. The evolving soundscapes are breath-taking and the library once fully explored is very versatile. I will be using this for underscore, crime, and scandi-noir in the first instance yet I can think of many more applications for Habitat. This is another great sounding library from Orchestral Tools that will get a huge amount of use. A definite recommendation and some of the most beautiful sounds I’ve heard so far in 2022!
