Checking Out: Cinematic Series Solo Strings by Cinematic Studio Series

With Cinematic Studio Solo Strings the developer delivers 41.65 GB of a beautifully sampled string quartet that is sure to turn heads . .  and delight your ears. The soft and flowing performances form this library can fool my ears as passing for the real thing with it’s crisp timbres, passionate legatos and feathery harmonics.

The library comes with the traditional quartet of Solo Violins (I & II), Viola and Cello and was recorded in the Same Scoring Stage as previous Cinematic Studio Series libraries, a “premier scoring stage in Australia”

CSSS delivers a full pallet of articulations from Legato to Portamento, Harmonics and Tremolos and Measured Tremolos and an array of Shorts ranging from Staccatos, Marcatos, and Staccatissimo.

As a Kontakt Player instrument, CSSS is compatible with both full and FREE versions of Kontakt 5.6.8+ and loads into your libraries tab.

There is a lot to love about this library,  the feathery harmonics and realism in attack for the tremolos , emotional legatos and portamentos, and biting marcatos, staccatos and staccatissimos are full of life.

In the video, I just showcase some of the timbres out of the box and show off some performance in play back but the developer has a full suite of technical walk-through and tutorial videos (below) that are sure to bring you up to speed on getting to know all the details of the library.

Even though out of the box the legato is very nice the instrument does offer switching between non-vibrato on full vibrato with CC2.

If you’re using the developers hugely popular CSS ensemble library, then you are in luck as CSS Solo uses the same interface and articulations switching and was recorded in concert seating making this library flexible for not only solo quartet work but also perfect to layer with CSS as first Chair instruments.

This library is a no-brainer if you are already using the developers Cinematic Studio Strings sections library with the built in integration, and for the asking price of $199 with their loyalty program (check your email or account for details)

If you are not currently a Cinematic Series Studio customer now might be a good time to get in with the developers promise of finishing out the orchestra with woodwinds and brass in the works, and you have to appreciate that 30% loyalty discount!

Cinematic Series Solo Strings sells for $299 from Cinematic Studio Series
