Soundiron releases Hyperion Strings Oktobass

Soundiron has announced the release of Hyperion Strings Oktobass.  This string library is currently available for $69 (regular price $99).  The full version of Kontak 6.2.2 or later is required.  More details from Soundirong below.

Hyperion Strings Oktobass captures the sound of the deepest concert string instrument in the world, extending down to 16Hz. This bone-rattling beast was sampled in comprehensive detail with a wide selection of 30+ articulations and weighs in at over 12GB of content.

Including a suite of intuitive options, inspiring performance features, a variety of sustains, short notes, dynamic expressions, special effects as well as hundreds of aleatoric melodic phrases. Hyperion Strings Oktobass has everything you need to add a thunderous low-end to your orchestral compositions.

 

We worked with Giorgio Riolo and Daniele Bertinelli to capture the Octobass at Moneta’s private gallery in Milan, Italy. It was recorded using a close pair of large-diaphragm mics at the F holes to achieve a dry and intimate sound, and a wide-spaced pair of omnis at 2 meters for a bright and vivid chamber quality. The mics can be blended in real-time, and the instrument can be freely positioned on our virtual stage, featuring a huge menu of our custom environments, so it’s easy to mix into any arrangement you desire.
