Vienna Symphonic Library has released 2 New Big Bang Orchestra Woodwind libraries: Neptune & Orion

Vienna, August 4, 2020 – The Vienna Symphonic Library is pleased to announce the release of two new installments of their successful Big Bang Orchestra series. Big Bang Orchestra: Neptune offers “tutti” recordings of 13 woodwind instruments, from the piccolo to the contrabassoon, all playing together. Taking a different approach, Big Bang Orchestra: Orion includes four separate ensembles of flutes, oboes, clarinets and bassoons. Both libraries are currently availble at introductory prices of $71 (reg. $104) and $125 (reg. $213), respectively.

Tutti Woodwinds
Big Bang Orchestra: Neptune includes “tutti” recordings of all 13 woodwind instruments that correspond exactly to the ones included in the Big Bang Orchestra modules, where the entire orchestra is playing at once, e.g., Andromeda, Black Eye and Capricorn. Recording the rich and colorful sound of these assorted instruments as a group is ideal for showcasing the delicate balance and blend of the entire woodwind choir, particularly when employing Vienna’s finest players. Instruments that are playing in unison and in octaves include: One piccolo, three flutes, two oboes, one English horn, two clarinets in Bb, one bass clarinet, two bassoons, and one contrabassoon. Via key switching users have the option to remove the piccolo and its clearly audible high tone from the tutti sound.

Woodwind Sections
Big Bang Orchestra: Orion offers four separate ensembles of flutes, oboes, clarinets and bassoons. For each ensemble, three musicians performed together and were recorded with an array of microphones, including individual close mics for each ensemble, mid mics, Decca tree (left – center – right), surround and high surround outriggers. All ensembles offer a wealth of articulations, with a special focus on the beautifully performed legatos that are available in two variations, regular and espressivo.
