PR: Will Evans has been named as the first-ever CEO of Spitfire Audio

Huge congrats go out to new CEO of Spitfire Audio, Will Evans. Will has been my personal contact at Spitfire, heading up the marketing department for the last couple years and I am thrilled to see he will be leading the company into a new era!

I can only imagine the new and exciting path this might lead the company on as Will (I guess that will be Mr. Evans now 😉  has been a leading force in the companies grand marketing, customer connection and social media engagement.

I have shared the official press release below.

LONDON, March 27 2018: Will Evans has been named as the first-ever CEO of Spitfire Audio, the innovative British music technology company.

Up until now founders Paul Thomson and Christian Henson have led Spitfire with support from senior management. The CEO role has been created in order to have someone dedicated to the day-to-day running of the business and provide a singular leadership voice. Thomson and Henson will focus on creative opportunities and partnerships, and on ensuring Spitfire’s product offering is aligned to its customer base.

Evans was previously Global Sales & Marketing Manager at Spitfire, a role he took up in 2016. He is now seeking a successor for this position.

Christian Henson, founder of Spitfire Audio, said: “Paul and I are incredibly proud that Will has accepted the position as CEO at Spitfire Audio and look forward to working with him to continue spreading the Spitfire creed globally in this next fascinating phase of our evolution.”

Will Evans, CEO of Spitfire Audio, said: “My appointment gives Paul and Christian time to focus on their original contribution to the business. I couldn’t be more pleased to work with them to help execute their vision. It’s been an inspiring journey so far and I’m very excited about the future for Spitfire Audio.”

Evans joined Spitfire Audio from Focusrite Audio Engineering, where he worked on artist, brand and media partnerships for five years, on brands including Focusrite, Novation, KRK and sE Electronics.

He holds a PhD in psychoacoustic engineering from the Institute of Sound Recording at the University of Surrey, where he also lectured in electroacoustics. Prior to that he received a Masters in acoustical engineering from the University of Southampton. Alongside his academic studies, Evans founded a small record label and artist management company Tape Club Records, and the combination of his two interests led to his work in music technology. Evans is also a non-executive director for Saffron Records, an organisation promoting women in music making.
